Confused- I purchased products but I think I should have bought Affiliates Pro

basically I want to be able to have some products as affiliate products (ebooks) but some can’t be as they are a different type (printed books).

I’m not sure how to do this and I’m not sure how to override the 30% commission I’ve set up in affiliates overall as I would like to have no commission for some products.

Does that make sense? Should I have bought affiliates pro instead?

  1. Is there any way I can pay the difference and switch to affiliates pro? Or be refunded and pay for affiliates pro?

    1. Yes the easiest is to simply refund you this one (done already) and get Affiliates Pro instead. Please let me know when you’ve purchased (email support at itthinx dot com please) and we’ll give you access to version 3 which uses advanced rates if it hasn’t been published until then.

  2. Ugh affiliates pro is what I need instead. It’s very confusing when you’re trying to work out which one you need.

I want to have certain products give commission to whichever affiliate referred them. 😉

    1. Ok thanks then it’s really more Affiliates Pro what you’d use. No problem 🙂

  3. Hi Kylie,

Thanks for asking, it really depends on how you want to grant the commissions.

    a) If you want to always grant a commission to a particular affiliate on a certain product, then you would use Affiliates Products. This does not require the affiliate to refer a customer via affiliate link, the affiliate will get a commission on every sale of the product(s) to which she or he is assigned.

    b) If you only want to grant a commission on sales that affiliates have actually referred via their affiliate link (or coupon), then you would rather need to use Affiliates Pro (or Affiliates Enterprise).

If you want a combination of both cases, it would make sense to use Affiliates Products and Pro/Enterprise together.

    Which would match your requirements?
